Welcome and Introductions

Falcon Crest Petition – We need to demonstrate our desire for DeKalb County to purchase the old abandoned Falcon Crest Apartment property (White Oak Drive and Welika) as greenspace.  It is our hope that this purchase will help better maintain the property, reduce crime and most importantly create a physical link between four Dekalb County parks (Delano-Line, Shoal Creek 1, 2 and 3).

To demonstrate our desire, we’re asking neighbors (and surrounding neighborhoods) to simply sign on to the online petition created below.  All you need to do is put your name and address in and click sign.  Comments and sharing with other neighbors is encouraged!

We’d love to have signatures ready to turn over to CEO Ellis and Commissioners Johnson and Watson by the end of the month. Try to keep signatures to residents of Dekalb.

501c3 – This is still moving along. There will be more updates at the next meeting hopefully.

Park update and planting reminder– We need ideas for how we can raise $1500 for the swing set that is to be installed on Dusty. We made a motion to allocate monies from another project to this initiative so we are left with $700 to raise. All ideas welcome!

Spring Picnic – Lisa has stepped up to head this year’s picnic again. Last year was a huge success but not without your support and help. Please reach out to Lisa if you’d like to help this year.

Formal Business:

Nominations will be taken in February’s meeting for new officers. Andy will be stepping down as President and nominations and votes will be held for all positions- President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
